Searching for the peace in nature, I walk through the woods with my medium format camera to capture everything that catches my eye and that gives me peace. All this from a fascination for positivity but also to explain what the manual labor of photography means to me. The basis of this project revolves around mental health, something I have had a personal and negative experience with, but which has also brought me to the place where I am now.
The project contains all the images that I make during my walks, it tells a story in which I come to rest and keep myself positive through my own creativity and imagination. Through photography and poetry I try to convey the message that creativity and seeking out peaceful places is a very good basis to perhaps look at life more positively and cheerfully.
I stand still among the tall trees. The wind whistles through the treetops, making a fierce but melancholic sound. The leaves dance and jump across the ground, the trees sway, and the sand swirls upward. The wind draws my gaze upward and moves everything around me.
I have roots too. Don't hurt them. You don't know what you're seeing.
